Receive notification of new postings using Pings and AlertsWhat makes RSS feeds so useful is users can get automatic notification of new postings by email using either Pings or Alerts. Pings are built into Enfeedia, whereas Alerts are generated from your Yahoo account. The simplest method is using Pings. Simply click the "Set Up Pings" link at the top of any NewsPage for which you want the new-posting notification and give us your email address. We'll then send you a validation code by email. You copy that validation code into our form to validate your email address to cause it to be entered into our pinging system. That's all there is to it, your ping request is registered. Whenever a new posting is added to a feed, you will be notified by email within about 10 to 20 minutes. Account owners can set up pings for others, by entering their email address and the account password. Enfeedia sends an email to the person informing them about the pings and providing instructions on how to unregister those pings. If you prefer to use a Yahoo account, click the "Create An Alert:" link at the top of any NewsPage and follow the instructions. A Yahoo account is required for Alerts. Make sure the email address associated with your Yahoo account is where you want Alerts sent. You can add a secondary email address if you prefer having Alerts being sent to an address other than the address Yahoo provides with your account. |
