and cluttering one's mailbox. By subscribing to a news feed, one can stay in touch with what's new without having to go to a website and examine the content looking for changes. How Do You Subscribe to RSS News Feeds?
By using a "news reader"—sometimes called a "news aggregator"—and it's quite easy. One of the easiest to use is the news reader of Yahoo. With a MyYahoo account, you can easily add the news feed to your personalized Yahoo page. And similarly, you can add a news feed to your personalized Google page. Here's how you do that. Simply click on the button to add the feed to your MyYahoo page. (Or the button for Google, or
for AOL.) And you will be led through the very simple process. If you do not have a MyYahoo account, you will be given the opportunity to open one by Yahoo ... you just need a user ID and password, and within a minute or two, you will have our news feed up and running on your personalized Yahoo page. Whenever you visit your MyYahoo page, you will be presented with our very latest news and information.
News Alerts
If you wish, you can direct Yahoo send you an alert email whenever a new item is published. To set up alerts, after signing in to your MyYahoo account, go to http://alerts.yahoo.com/, then select "Feed/Blog" under the "Create An Alert"
tab. You can then select the feed for which you want an alert in Section B. Under that, choose the frequency for alerts, and choose how you want your alerts delivered. You can even choose to have the alert sent to your mobile device.
Use Enfeedia to Read RSS News Feeds Directly
This symbol indicates you can view the associated news feed directly using Enfeedia's news feed reader feature. Simply click that button and Enfeedia will present the news feed. And that NewsPage will also offer opportunities to subscribe to the feed as described above.
Finally, if you find yourself in a circumstance where you'd like to verbally tell someone how to find your news feed with instructions they can easily remember, simply say go to "Read a Feed dot com" (readafeed.com ...you don't even need the "http://" or "www" prefix) and enter your account name in the box. Other RSS News Readers
There are also many news readers available online and that you can download for free.To subscribe to a news feed using one of those news readers, you will need to provide the address for the news feed. The easy way to get an address for a feed is to click the or
button associated with the feed and copy it from your browser address bar. Then paste it in as directed by the news reader you've chosen.
Browsers with Built-In RSS News Readers
If you use the Safari v2 (by Apple), Internet Explorer v 7 or the Firefox v2, you can use its built-in news reader to read a feed. All you need to do to view the feed is click the or button
and your feed-capable browser will display it for you.
