About the Owner help notes

The Account Owner -- the person who opened the Enfeedia account -- has full access to all features of the site consistent with his/her membership level, including creating/editing/deleting feeds, posting/editing/deleting items on feeds, and editing all aspects if the membership account including upgrading the membership level. The Owner is the only person who can create/edit/delete feeds and make changes to the account. The Owner extends login privileges to Editors, Reporters, and Freelancers by providing passwords specific to those login methods.

as Owner

With the new more powerful encryption system in place since late 2014, you will not be able to log in until you request a new password if you have not done so since November 29, 2014.

We also implemented an optional Security Key feature that provides an additional level of security for requesting a new password. Until you activitate it (by going to My Account abd creating a key), you can ignore it.

Note: Your browser "cookies" must be enabled.

If you have not assigned a Security Key to your account, leave this entry blank. To assign a Security Key, complete your log in here, and select "My Account". Select the top-most choice.

Forgot Name or Password?

If you forgot your Account Name or Account Password, contact us and we will send you an email with your Account Name and a temporary password. (Please allow about 12 hours to receive your new password until we automate this function.)

After you log in, go to "About My Account" to change your password.

About Editors help notes

Editors are individuals assigned passwords by the Account Owner to add, edit, and delete items on news feeds, even those items posted by Reporters or Freelancers. In fact, for moderated feeds, the Editor can review and approve items posted by Reporters so that they go online. Item approval is accomplished by editing the item (with or without changes being made) and submitting it.

The Editor cannot create, edit or delete feeds, nor make changes to the Owner's account.

The editor feature is available at the "Publisher" membership level and higher.

as Editor

After you log in, you will be able to add items to the feed, edit items in the feed, or delete items. By the way, you need not ever delete an item if you don't want to; when you reach the maximum number of items permitted at your membership level, the addition of another item will cause the automatic deletion of the oldest item in the feed (based on the date it was originally generated, not the date of any subsequent editing of the item).

Enter the Editor password assigned to you by the Account Owner. Forget your Editor password? Ask the Account Owner.

About Reporters help notes

Reporters are individuals assigned passwords by the Account Owner to add, edit, and delete items on news feeds, acting as an assistant to the Account Owner.

Reporters can originate news items but can alter or delete only those items this reporter originated. Reporters cannot alter or delete any other news items including items posted by other Reporters. Reporters provide a PIN to identify which items are theirs.

Furthermore, if the feed is moderated, items posted by a Reporter to that feed do not go online until edited and submitted by the Account Owner or an Editor.

The reporter feature is available at the "Publisher" membership level and higher.

as Reporter

After you log in, you will be able to add items to the feed, and to edit items or delete items that you previously posted to the feed using a PIN to identify those items. By the way, you need not ever delete an item if you don't want to; when the maximum number of items permitted for the membership level of this account is reached, the addition of another item will cause the automatic deletion of the oldest item in the feed (based on the date it was originally generated, not the date of any subsequent editing of the item).

Unlike 4-digit PINs you are likely familiar with, a Reporter PIN can be 20 characters long, alphabetic and numeric.

Enter the Reporter password assigned to you by the Account Owner. Forget your Reporter password? Ask the Account Owner.

About Freelancers help notes

Freelance writers gain access to only those specific items within a feed to which the Account Owner has chosen to give access. The Account Owner assigns freelance passwords on an item by item basis to make selected items accessible to a Freelancer. Access is granted by providing the freelance password to the Freelancer. When the Freelancer logs in, (s)he will be presented a list of all feeds which have at least one item with the matching password, and then when a feed is selected, the Freelancer will have access to just those items on that feed having the matching password.

There can be multiple Freelancers editing items on a feed, but there can only be one Freelancer capable of accessing any specific item. It's not required that all items in a feed be accessible to a Freelancer just because some items are.

Freelancers cannot originate or delete items, only edit items or replace items with new content altogether. Freelancers are able to simultaneously log their item to another feed if they are provided the Editor password for that other feed.

The freelance feature is available at the "Publisher-PRO" membership level and higher.

as Freelancer

After you log in, you will be able to edit the item(s) in the feed(s) in this account to which your freelance password has been assigned. Your options are to completely replace the previous contents of an item, or simply edit the existing contents to make a change. If you have been told by the Owner of an account that you can "log" your item to a feed in his/her account, you will be given the opportunity to specify that account and feed, and to enter the "Editor" password given to you by the Owner of that account that gives permission to log the item to that feed.

Enter the Freelancer password assigned to you by the Account Owner. Forget your Freelance password? Ask the Account Owner.
