Hearst Castle is one of the largest of approximately 5,000 historic house museums in the U.S., with one of the most sophisticated guided tour programs in the country.

Unlike the Atlantic Seaboard, few tall, classic lighthouse towers were built on the Pacifc Coast, since the high bluffs along much of its extent provide the necessary height for a focal plane. Piedras Blancas, Pigeon Point, and the original tower at Point Arena, were the only tall, seacoast lighthouses built in California.

Morro Bay State Park features lagoon and natural bay habitat. The bay's most prominent landmark is Morro Rock. The park has opportunities for sailing, fishing, hiking, and bird watching.

The Jack House is a unique piece of California's elegant and colorful past which will transport visitors back to the Victorian era. The Jack Family, holds history with some of the most prominent players in the drama of Central California development. Active in ranching, politics, travel, banking and land development, the Jacks were also friends and associates to the likes of railroad magnates Charles Crocker and C.P. Huntington, acclaimed statesman and pianist, Ignace Paderewski, and humorist Will Rogers.

The Guthrie-Bianchini House, located at the corner of Burton Drive and Center Street in Cambria's East Village, is one of the oldest houses in Cambria. The Guthrie-Bianchini House was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1980 and is on the California Registry. The house will become the western anchor of a Heritage Park encompassing all of Center Street between Burton Drive and Bridge Street.

Nitt Witt Ridge always had the appearance of a post-earthquake death trap from afar, but up close it was an imaginative assemblage of sculpted junk -- stone walls inlayed with bottles, rusty metal, busted TV sets. Nitt Witt Ridge was designated a California Historic Landmark in 1981.
