BANKRUPTCY COURT APPROVES SALE OF THE NAKOMA (WITH CONTINGENCY)

The bankruptcy court yesterday approved the sale of the Nakoma Golf Resort (the Nakoma clubhouse and the golf course) to WLSI, Inc. (owner William Shaw), with a contingency in the contract that Plumas County approves plans to construct a lodge having up to 40 rooms.

The lodge would be located adjacent to the Nakoma clubhouse with a connecting structure between the two.

The judge emphasized that, because of the contingency, the sale is not consummated by this ruling. In the meantime, the trustee can accept backup offers from other parties. Any such offer could only be accepted if the sale to Mr. Shaw were to fail.

Mr. Shaw offers the following summary of his development experience: "40 years experience in real estate development and residential construction. Known for substantial design and construction features in Goshen Woods, Pinebrook Estates, and Stonebridge in Edwardsville. Designer and planner of Spring Green Lodge and Conference Center and Chairman of S.G.L. Inc., builder and owner of the hotel. It only begins with the changes in greens fees, once as high as $149, now $55 to $80, depending on the season and day of the week.
