FeedBack ( 0) Hello Ranch Players! We have been contacted by our own Saddlebrooke Ranch resident Beth Lee, Co-Chair of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Course at the University of Arizona.
She has reached out to the Ranch Players to ask for actors to portray scripted psychiatric patients. A student will conduct a clinical interview with the scripted 'patient' - you. It will be one-on-one in an interview room. The interview will be streamed to the classroom for review.
This is the exact method I used for the Interpersonal Skills course I taught to medical students at Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit. It was so interesting and so much fun!
Anyone interested in participating please read the letter from Beth below, and if you're available on the dates stated in her letter, show up next Tuesday at 10a at the Bistro to hear Beth explain it all in detail. I'll be there and hope to see many of you!
Hi Ms. Zara,
I look forward to meeting with you on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 10 a.m., at the Bistro.
I live in the Ranch, on Ankole Dr., and I teach psychiatric nursing to BSN nursing students at the University of Arizona. I am conducting a new activity with the students in August to prepare them for their psychiatric nursing clinical rotation. Each volunteer will portray a psychiatric patient and a student will conduct a clinical interview with them. The interview will be streamed via Zoom to the other students to watch.
We will be holding the event on Thursday, August 29, and Friday, August 30, in the afternoon (12-5 p.m. max). We will hold a training event at the Ranch House during the week of August 12-16. I wanted to reach out to you to see if you, or any of the others in your theater group would be interested in volunteering for this very meaningful activity for our Psychiatric Mental Health nursing students.

Ranch Players Introduction
FeedBack ( 0) The Ranch Players
No matter how much or how little theatrical experience you may have, The Ranch Players offers something for you! The goal is to offer quality plays while giving Ranch members opportunities in all aspects of theater: acting, vocal coaching, directing, writing, producing, staging, light and sound design and production.
There will be an introductory meeting in the early September, followed later by auditions, after which once a week rehearsals will begin. Our first performance will be in November, 2018.
To all those who would like to participate in The Ranch Players, and are interested in being front of an audience, or to those who are interested in being behind the scenes, directing, producing, creating lighting and sound effects, etc., don’t miss the fall meeting! There will be entertainment 🎉. Two of our players will perform for you, demonstrating the Chamber Theater style.
Announcements about the fall meeting and auditions will be here in HOA Club Ranch Players website, in the Ranch Roundup, as well as at other sites.
All are welcome! The Ranch Players encourages both you theater newbies/wannabes and you theatrical old hands, to come join us in creating some dramatic fun!
