Status of SBR Clubs website development
We've entered into a circling pattern to give RCI (Robson Communities Inc) time to review and comment on the evolving SBR Clubs website. It makes sense that they care a lot about the design, because this site effectively represents RCI to the public. They also care about the design eliminating a webmaster (me) once completed due to the fact that the information that the HOA and the club officials enter (using simple forms) completely drive site operation. We are in agreement to slow down implementation while they look it over.
In the meantime, each club should be thinking over how they want their club represented and what features they will need. In particular, it will serve clubs well to not require their own website by using the widgets that are being provided. Write down your ideas; we'll get together as you wish to work out details once we stoke up the fire again.
What kind of features do widgets provide? Club description that's text-editable whenever the club wishes, email contact to club officials, document storage and access ("ClubCloud"), email-eliminating chat plus calendar/to-do list/membership list/dues payment tool provided by GroupWorks, video/video channel (via YouTube and Vimeo), photo libraries (via Flickr, perhaps others), news feed with notifications, event feed with notifications, and a simple sign-up app (queueup.space) that optionally resets on a weekly basis for your one-off or recurring events ... and perhaps you have recommendations for more. By the way, all free.
What are you missing that would require a website for your club?
