January 11th Luncheon

 Our first luncheon as the SBR WOMEN'S CLUB will begin at 11:30am on Monday, January 11th in the La Montana Room. Seating will be assigned so you can get a chance to mingle with some of our new residents as well as old friends.
Mary Lecompte, whom we all know from the bistro, will be giving us a cooking demonstration on one of the dishes that will be served for lunch. Lunch will follow at 12:30.
The theme is Asian and will include:
Sauté Chicken
Fried Rice
Cap Cay Veggies
Egg Drop Soup
Oriental Cookies
Iced Tea, Coffee
Wine can be purchased separately in the Bistro.
The price for the luncheon is $12.00 for members and $14.00 for non-members and can be paid for with cash or a check made out to "SBR WOMEN'S CLUB".

November 9th Luncheon

October 12th Luncheon

The guest speaker for our October luncheon will be Sue Ross. She is an Image and Color Consultant as well as being certified in skin care through BeautiControl Cosmetics. She has worked in this field for 24 years and still loves it. She and her husband live in Tucson where she operates her business.
Sue will explain and demonstrate for us the best ways to take care of our skin and how to apply makeup. She will also talk about wardrobe planning and how to achieve a great look from head to toe. This is one talk you won't want to miss.
Our lunch will be a Turkey Taco bar including: cheese, lettuce, tomato, green onion, sour cream, salsa, crispy shells, flour tortillas, also Spanish rice, beans, tossed salad, Tortilla Soup and Dulce De Leche Chimi for dessert.

September 14th Luncheon

Come join your neighbor Ranchettes for lunch and enjoy a presentation about our local birds. Our guest speaker for September is Kendall Kroesen, the Urban Program Manager at the Tucson Audubon Society.
Kendall has a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from UC, San Diego and joined the staff of the Tucson Audubon Society in 2002. In his role there, he works with municipalities, businesses, homeowners and landscape designers to promote urban landscapes that are bird friendly.

August 10th Luncheon

At the August luncheon, our own Rodyon Jones (from the Esperanza Spa) will speak to us on his approach to healing. His specializations include: full-body relaxation, deep tissue massage, cranio-sacral therapy and Zen Shiatsu.
Rodyon's Makko Ho class (held at 11:30 on Thursdays and Saturdays) has a following of people who have found relief for a variety of back problems from taking his class.

July 13th Luncheon

We have an interesting topic for our July 13th luncheon. Our speaker is Dr. Michael Miles - a naturopathic physician from the Catalina Clinic in Catalina. A naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than merely eliminate or suppress symptoms. Dr. Miles will discuss this unique approach in regard to hormonal issues (bio-identical hormones), thyroid issues (Armour thyroid), heart issues (chelation), neurological issues (hyperbaric oxygen), as well as standard transitory issues like colds and flus. You don't want to miss this - bring your questions!

Spring Fashion Show - April 20th
|
Another fun Fashion show and lunch is in the works. It will be held on April 20, 2015 at 11:30am.
Fashions this time are courtesy of Maya Palace - featuring their wide array of colorful clothing:
from casual linen or cotton, to elegant outfits fit for a wedding or cruise, purses, shoes, scarves and jewelry to complete any ensemble. Definitely a treat for the eyes!

February 9th Luncheon
|
Our guest speaker for February is Qigong Instructor Joe Pinella. Joe has studied and practiced the ancient Chinese healing art of Qigong for over fifty years. Qigong is one of the three pillars of Chinese medicine (the others are acupuncture and herbal healing.)
Joe's real test of the power of Qigong came in 1991 when he broke his neck and back in an auto accident that left him paralyzed. Using Qigong he was able to regain the use of his body.
Joe will share with us a few exercises for improving balance, normalizing blood pressure and exercising the circulatory system without greatly increasing the heart rate.

March 10th Luncheon

 The March luncheon will be held at 11:30am on the 10th. We will be entertained by a group of musicians who call themselves "Flautas Maderas" which means wooden flutes. If you are new to SaddleBrooke Ranch, please contact Jan Christensen at Janny7C@aol.com. She will be happy to answer your questions. "Flautas Maderas" was formed when the members met at a workshop in Las Cruces, NM. They found they enjoyed playing together and made plans to meet and play as a quartet whenever possible. Donna Hanson lives in Payson and performs for various events in her community. Ann Koenig is the Music Director of the Phoenix Recorder Society and lives, performs and teaches in the Scottsdale area. Barbara Martin resides here in Saddlebrooke Ranch and part time in Telluride, Colorado where she was part of a performing trio called "Windsong." She also performed for the Telluride Chamber Music Festival with members from the San Francisco Symphony.
For the March 10th program, a new member, Sierra Norris from Oro Valley, will join the group. Sierra majored in Bassoon and Flute and received her Master's in Music Therapy. She works and teaches in the Tucson area.

He is an expert in this field. He enjoys helping people figure out the most efficient ways to pass down their holdings to their heirs. John also helps families handle the estates of their loved ones. February Birthday Lunch Club, Feb 11
