SBRTA Election of Officers Candidate Statements
CANDIDATE STATEMENTS RE SBRTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION

The vote for 2018 officers will take place at the General Membership Meeting in November. The exact date is to be determined.

I. President: Steve Ordahl
A brief statement of my qualifications follows:
We have owned a home at the Ranch since 2010 and have been long time members of SBRTA. During this time I have served as team captain of the Roadrunners in the 2015 Steiness Tennis Festival, Vice President of the Association for 2 years, and have the honor of serving as President for 2017. I served as a member of the committee established to work with Robson Communities to bring additional courts to the Ranch, and have worked hard over the past year to see those courts come on line.
Prior to moving to the ranch, I had a long career in government, private business, and the military in which I served for almost 30 years. In all of these roles I held senior leadership positions with significant responsibility.
I look forward to the opportunity to served as SBRTA President in 2018.
Steve Ordahl.

II. Vice President: Wes Hurst
1973 BS EE with Distinction University of Oklahoma
1st in '73 class.
33 years with Procter & Gamble Group Manager Product Supply Senior Manager Human Res.

III. Secretary: Sandy Schlager
I am interested in being nominated as SBRTA secretary. Here is my bio information short & sweet:
1. Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (MA,CCC-SLP) in the public schools for 42
years.
2. Past officer positions including secretary for professional organizations at local,
county, and state levels. Member-at-large in the national association.
3. Past secretary of church council.
4. Past officer positions including secretary for the TAV Women'Club (500+ members)
at the adult community we lived in immediately before we moved here.
5. Active in the tennis club at Trilogy at Vistancia (TAV).
6. Current secretary for the SBRTA

IV. Treasurer: Lutz Pape
After immigrating to the US in 1970 from Germany I got my degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1972 and started my career in public accounting with Touche Ross & Co. After 4 years I joined one of my clients in the securities broker/dealer industry. I held several positions, including Controller and Vice- president/Internal Audit Director. In 1994 I decided to leave the board room intrigues and become the Chief Financial Officer of a start-up company in the disaster recovery area of the brokerage industry. Three years later we sold that company and I decided life was too short to waste it working, so I retired. We moved to Washington state in 2003 and after 10 years of " liquid sunshine" we were looking for the "real thing" and came to the Ranch. No regrets so far.

V. Membership Chair: Beena Ordahl
I plan to continue as membership chair unless challenged. My background includes teaching as well as administrative experience. Good organizational skills, the ability to anticipate needs, and the desire to grow the SBRTA membership are some of the assets I bring to the position.
Beena Ordahl

VI. Events Co-Chairs:
A. Carol Mihal
Carol Mihal has lived at SBR for 2 years after moving from here Glastonbury, CT with her husband, Bill. Before retiring to this amazing community, Carol worked professionally as a therapist for adolescents and families before working in the technology industry in training, sales and software product marketing manager positions.
Carol is an active and enthusiastic participant in tennis, golf and pickleball. She participated in the last two Steiness Tennis Festivals and was responsible for registration for the 2016 and 2017 Tennis Festivals. Carol was also a member of the Tennis Club Ratings Committee. Additionally, she was on the committee for the 2016 Women's Member-Member Golf Tournament. Carol was on the Membership Committee for SBR Pickleball Club and participated in the 2017 Pickleball Festival. Involvement in these three sports has given Carol a wide exposure to social events organized to most effectively draw and engage our community members. This experience makes Carol very well suited to be the Events Coordinator of the SBR Tennis Club.

B. Sue Cook
Sue Cook loves tennis and is thrilled to be living in a community that offers wonderful facilities and welcoming tennis enthusiasts. Her experience playing organized tennis is limited, especially doubles, but she is excited to learn new skills and make friends along the way. Sue and her husband, Jim, moved to Arizona from Cape Girardeau, Missouri to be closer to her daughter and grandsons. She is a retired counselor who specialized in working with youth in both mental health and school settings. She is a certified Trauma and Loss Consultant and School Specialist. In Illinois, Sue was honored with the Award of Excellence as the Outstanding Student Support Personnel in the 1998-99 school year. She was awarded Educator of the Year in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 2009. She has a history of community involvement ranging from organizing and planning parenting seminars, booster club leadership and promoting passing of school referendums. Sue is excited to be part of the SaddleBrooke Ranch Tennis Association.

FOR WEBSITE PUBLISHERS
You can publish this feed in two ways. (1) Simply by installing a link to this feed on your website, or (2) by syndicating (embedding) a portion of the the actual feed content on your website.

(1) Linking to This NewsPage

The following link for this NewsPage can be used to form an anchor text link for your website:

http://www.enfeedia.com/sbrtennis/specialevents.php

Alternatively, you can install an RSS NewsPage icon enfeedia news feed reader on your website using this link:

<a href="http://www.enfeedia.com/see/sbrtennis/specialevents.php"><img src="http://www.enfeedia.com/enfeedia_01.gif" border="0"></a>

(2) Syndicating This Feed Using Enfeedia's 'Super Simple Syndication'

Syndication of RSS feeds simply means that the feed content or portion thereof is embedded on one or more websites (RSS = Really Simple Syndication).

If your website server supports PHP -- and virtually all of them do -- you can display the contents of this feed directly on your website. You select how many of the most recent items and the length of the items to display.

You implement this by simply inserting either of the two following PHP code snippets on your website. The first arranges items in a vertical column whereas the second in a horizontal row. (Be sure to take into account your webpage width when using the row orientation).

Both snippets provide a basic presentation of the most recent three items showing a maximum of approximately 300 characters, inheriting colors and style from the page syndicating the feed. You can change the number of items displayed by changing the NI parameter in the snippet. Similarly, you can change the length of items displayed by changing the LI parameter.

Vertical Presentation of Items:

file_get_contents("http://www.enfeedia.com/SOS.php?T=BB&P=col&AN=sbrtennis&FN=specialevents&NI=3&LI=300;)

Horizontal Presentation of Items:

file_get_contents("http://www.enfeedia.com/SOS.php?T=BB&P=row&AN=sbrtennis&FN=specialevents&NI=3&LI=300;)

The above snippets use Enfeedia's "Super Simple Syndication" eliminating the need to upload any scripts to syndicate feeds. You can explore syndication methods by going to the Enfeedia home page and selecting the "Promote/Syndicate" menu item. You will learn how to fully customize the presentation of the feed on your website. For this feed, use account name sbrtennis and then select feed specialevents.
