If the owner of a feed gave you a "reporter" password, you are able to post an item on that feed. Here are your instructions for posting and editing items on Snippets feeds. Please read these before signing in. When you click "SIGN IN" at the bottom of this window, these instructions will stay on your screen so that you can refer to them as you post your item.
To use this system, your browser must be set up to accept "cookies". It probably is, but If you don't know what that means, contact this Snippets site for help.
All items presented on Snippets are posted there by using "news feeds". You don't need any technical knowledge or skils about news feeds to post an item other than clicking links and filling in forms.
Snippets includes a news feed for each topic. To post an item on a Snippets feed, you will be using the Enfeedia news feed publishing website. The custom instructions you are reading here will make it easy to navigate the Enfeedia website; you need not read the background material on that website if you follow these instructions.
- You will sign in as "reporter" by entering the Account Name and Reporter password. If you do not already know this information, return to the home page, click "contact this site" in the blue link bar, and ask for it. It will be sent to you by email. Then return here to continue.
- You will also create and enter your own private 4-character alphanumeric (i.e., letters and numbers) PIN to uniquely identify your items as your own so that others cannot modify your posting. If later you return to edit or delete previous postings, you will need that PIN to gain access to them.
Once you sign in, follow these steps to post your item:
(1) Click the "Publish or Edit Items" button.
(2) Select the news feed to which you wish to post an item from the drop-down list.
(3) Leave "Add an Item" selected (or select Edit or Delete to modify or delete a previous posting) and then click "Perform Selected Item Operation".
(4) In the form on the next screen, enter a title, a link of your choosing -- or just leave the default setting -- and a description, i.e., your article.
(5) Click "Submit" at the very bottom of that screen. Your item will be online in a matter of a few seconds.
After you post your item, you can close the Enfeedia browser window and return to the Snippets screen to see your item online. You will need to refresh (reload) your browser window to see your posting.
If you would like to edit or delete one of your previous postings, follow the instructions above with the exception that you will select "Edit" or "Delete" instead of "Add An Item". You will be given the opportunity to select the posting that you want to edit or delete.
